Readers Journal
My Experience with the Novel: I have read "Marine Sniper" many times and have enjoyed it each time. I also learn new things and remember my reaction the first time I read the book. When I first read the novel I was sort of familiar with the Vietnam War and didn't really know a ton about it. While I was reading the book and hearing about the environment and the fighting that happened in Vietnam I knew I needed to look into what the Vietnam War was all about. After doing research I was reading the book (Marine Sniper) a lot more often. I was intrigued by the true stories of Carlos Hathcock and his adventurers into the Vietnamese wilderness. After finishing a chapter I would want to read more and more. I feel like the message I got from the book is that you should take risks and go against all odds. I think other readers would feel the same way.
